Free CogAT Practice Test — Kindergarten

Real-format sample questions with answers and explanations, matched to the kindergarten CogAT.

For kindergarten and first grade, the CogAT (Levels 5/6–7) is read aloud by the teacher and uses pictures and simple patterns. The samples below match that level: counting patterns, basic opposites, and single-change picture puzzles. The CogAT has three batteries — Verbal, Quantitative, and Nonverbal — and the samples below include all three. Every question follows the official format: five answer choices, one correct answer.
